Aloe Vera Health Benefits
Aloe vera health benefits are widely known every where it grows.
With more than 200 active compounds, including 20 minerals, 20 of the 22 necessary amino acids, and 12 essential vitamins, it’s no wonder folks love it!
Just drinking aloe vera juice has been shown to help regulate the digestive system, reduce internal inflammation improving blood glucose levels in diabetics and even lowering blood lipids in hyper-lipidaemic patients.
In other diseases, preliminary studies have suggested oral Aloe vera gel may reduce symptoms and inflammation in patients with ulcerative colitis, further attesting to the health benefits of aloe vera.
Compounds extracted from Aloe vera have been used as an immunostimulant that aids in fighting cancers in cats and dogs. This treatment has not been scientifically tested in humans, but is interesting to know that it is effective.
Topical application of Aloe vera may be effective for genital herpes and psoriasis. However, it is not effective for the prevention of radiation-induced injuries, nor does it offer protection from sunburn or suntan.

In a double-blind clinical trial of Aloe vera and fluoridated dentifrices (eg. toothpaste), it was shown that both demonstrated a statistically significant reduction of gingivitis and plaque.
This is a powerful testimony for those not comfortable having fluoride in their water supply.
Aloe vera extracts have proven antibacterial and antifungal properties too. These extracts also show an ability to inhibit the growth of fungi that cause tinea.
Again, this is encouraging information to know, but the evidence for control beneath human skin remains to be established.
